The Gospel

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.  John 3:16

Often it is portrayed that there are good people in the world and bad people in the world.  The good people go to heaven, the bad people burn in hell. If we do enough good things we become good enough.  So if we do good things then we'll be happy, sound familiar?

That's not what we believe.  We believe the world is full of people, both good and bad at the same time.  The message of Jesus Christ does not tell you to be good.  It actually means under no power, authority, wisdom, or strength of our own can we come to our God and know Him.  Instead He has come down as Jesus Christ in order to free us from this trap of being good and being bad.   You don't have to choose Jesus, Jesus has already chosen you.

We believe there are two signs of this deep love, the first is Baptism.  Baptism is being adopted into God's family.  In the water God is there with us, marking and claiming us as His own.

The second sign of God's deep love, is Communion.  All baptized believers come to receive bread and wine,  the body and blood in remembrance of Jesus Christ and see His presence.

And there you have it, the core of what we believe.  But its not done of course, there is a wealth of knowledge.  We continue to learn to pray, to love as broken hypocrites who don't deserve what God has given. We continue to do this on Sunday morning.  Come and see.
